Talk in Toledo

Improving Communications and Collaboration between
Ferret Shelters and Humane Societies

This workshop will show shelter operators and humane society officers how to work together to shelter and rehome ferrets, provide tips for handling large scale rescues, and how to handle abuse cases for successful prosecution.

Tentative Schedule
3:00 – 4:30pm Shop and Talk: meet with other ferret lovers, shop our vendors, and buy raffle tickets
4:30 – 5:30pm Speaker Presentation: Dee Gage
5:45 – 7:00pm Buffet Dinner with Table Topics
7:00 – 7:15pm Raffle Drawings
7:30 – 8:30pm Speaker Presentation: Linda Reider

Optional Breakfast Sunday morning.

Dee Gage is the owner/operator of the West Michigan Ferret Connection, co-founder of the Midwest Ferret Fellowship and a member of the Michigan Department of Agriculture Companion Animal Advisory Committee.

Linda Reider is the Regional Coordinator for the Great Lakes Office of the Humane Society of the United States.

Hotel Accommodations
The Symposium will be held at the Toledo Hilton on the campus of the Medical College of Ohio, 3100 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, OH 43614. The room rate is $99/night plus tax. Reservations must be made through Judy Cooke, whizbang@midoio.net, 740-666-5872.

Cancellation Policies
All cancellations received by September 24, 2004 will be subject to a $15 processing. No refunds will be issued after September 24 as catering commitments must be finalized at that time. If you know you must cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your space to another.

We expect there may be disagreements on some issues, but we ask that people show respect for each other and for differing viewpoints. Anyone who cannot maintain civility will be asked to leave and no refund will be issued.
